The future of Theresa May’s Brexit deal will be decided later today when a series of knife-edge votes on major amendments to Britain’s exit terms come before MPs.
The Prime Minister shocked Parliament this afternoon after she urged the European Union to re-open Brexit negotiations in a bid to secure changes to the controversial backstop plan to avoid a hard border in Ireland.
But her decision to throw her weight behind a backbench amendment which would remove the backstop has prompted accusations that she is effectively “voting against her own deal”.
Opening a crucial day of debate in the House of Commons, Mrs May said MPs had made clear what they did not want when they rejected her Withdrawal Agreement by a 230-vote margin earlier this month, but now it was time for them to tell Brussels what they do want.
She called for them to send an "emphatic message" to the EU by backing an amendment tabled by Tory grandee Sir Graham Brady which would require her to replace the backstop with "alternative arrangements”.
And she told them: "If you want Brexit, you have to vote for Brexit."
The Prime Minister will travel to Brussels later today for “informal” talks with EU leaders.
However the bloc has reportedly ruled out any possibility of renegotiating the legally binding aspect of her Brexit deal, meaning the best she could hope to secure would be further non-binding assurances.

Une union LATINO-SLAVE ET BRITANNIQUE est tout à fait capable de devenir économiquement performante. ET DE CREER LE PARTAGE DE LA CREATION INDUSTRIELLE. Et savoir acheter “entre soi”. Sinon, nous serons envahis par les produits chinois (qui sont surtout des produits crées par des européens ou américains et exécutés en Chine). Nous devons apprendre à acheter de VRAIS produits EUROPEENS. Sinon, nous disparaîtrons.
ET SURTOUT arrêter avec les anciennes énergies qui nous rendent dépendants des autres: la fusion froide existe, l’énergie dite libre est déjà utilisée par la firme Minato au Japon. Faire en sorte que les gens des pays froids puissent bénéficier de ces énergies pas cher. Bientôt, les gens modestes n’auront plus les moyens de se chauffer et les maladies réapparaîtront.

la nébuleuse de l’UE a surtout peur de l’effet domino ….! car les fissures du système Eurocrate “vassalisateur”, commencent à s’élargir dans plusieurs pays sur tous les plans , d’ailleurs, quel pays ,quel peuple , voudrait être l’égal des différences des autres ? , quand il n’a plus la liberté de choisir lui-même son devenir …?
